The work and its setting
A story in mosaic.
The archive preserves twenty-six photographs under the title “La vita di Don Pavoni”. They document a narrative cycle of sacred art made for the same church as the mosaics devoted to the life of Mary.
The workshop website describes panels of five square metres each. The photograph numbering is retained as an archive reference; it establishes neither the chronology of the episodes nor a complete inventory of the panels.
Follow the groups of figures, gestures and settings that build the narrative. Enlarging the photographs lets you move from the scene to the mosaic surface without separating a detail from its photographed panel.
